Delete your account
Last updated: 02 August 2026
1. Delete from inside the app (recommended)
The fastest way to delete your Mind Archive account and all associated data is from inside the app on any device you're signed in on:
- Open Mind Archive.
- Tap the Settings icon.
- Scroll to the Account section.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm on the follow-up prompt (you may be asked to re-enter your password for security).
The deletion happens immediately and is not reversible.
2. Delete by email
If you no longer have the app installed or can't sign in, email us at hello@barrelofsunshine.com from the email address associated with your Mind Archive account. Please include:
- The email address on the account.
- The subject line "Delete my Mind Archive account".
We'll confirm receipt within one working day and complete the deletion within seven days.
3. What gets deleted
When your account is deleted we remove:
- Your Firebase Authentication record (email, hashed password, sign-in provider link).
- Every document under
users/<your-uid>/ in Cloud Firestore — notes, journals, recipes, notice boards, posters, subscription mirror, storage quota.
- Every attachment under
users/<your-uid>/attachments/ in Cloud Storage — PDFs, photos, voice memos, files.
- All local Mind Archive data on the device you deleted from — notes, attachments, notice boards, posters, theme settings, statistics.
- The local device's Mind Archive encryption key, so any residual on-disk fragments are cryptographically inaccessible.
- Your RevenueCat subscription cache.
4. What is retained
- Transaction records — anonymised transaction records may be retained where required by UK tax law. Once your Firebase account is gone these records cannot be linked back to you personally.
- Active subscriptions — deleting your Mind Archive account does not cancel an in-progress subscription with Apple or Google. To cancel, open the Subscriptions section of the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) settings on your device.
- Support emails — if you've emailed us for support, that email thread stays in our inbox for six months for audit / accounting, then is deleted.
5. Local-only data
If you never signed in to Mind Archive, you had no cloud account — your library was stored only on your device. Deleting the app removes all of it. There is nothing for us to delete on our servers because there was never anything there.
